Chocolate Ganache Gelato & Peppermint Sandwiches

Santa’s New Favorite Cookie

Step #1 Prep - Items Needed: Pint of Muse’s Chocolate Ganache, a scoop, crushed candy canes (use a food processor or put in a plastic bag and lightly crush with a mallet)
Pre-chill cookies in the freezer (this will help keep the gelato from melting during assembly)

Step #2
Place a scoop of the Chocolate Ganache Gelato in the center of a cookie.

Step #3
Place a Cookie on top of the scoop and lightly press down.

Step #4
Roll the edges of the sandwich in the crushed candy canes.
(Tip:  if the gelato is too soft or and the candy falls off, place the cookie sandwich in the freezer and let the gelato harden a little.  The harder it is the better the candy will stick.)

​Place in the freezer until ready to serve or Enjoy immediately.  :)

For a taste of Winter, Try Muse's "Yellow Snow" Balls

The coolness in the air provides a spark of magic that enhances the Holiday Season. With winter fast approaching, it doesn’t seem likely that we will see any snow here in Florida. So, Muse Gelato was inspired to concoct a sweet treat to bring some snowy goodness your way! With simple instructions, you can have the kiddos join in on the fun. All you need is a pint of Muse’s Vanilla Citrus Gelato, a bag of shredded coconut, a bowl, a sheet pan and an ice cream scoop.

Step 1
Remove Vanilla Citrus Gelato directly from the freezer and scoop a ball into the bowl of coconut. Once coated, place on chilled sheet pan. Repeat until you have the desired amount of “snowballs”.

Step 2
Place the vanilla citrus snow balls onto the sheet pan and into the freezer until ready to serve.

As regular Ice Cream has a 18% - 30% fat content, Gelato has only a 2-9%. This is because milk is the main ingredient in gelato, vs cream for making Ice “Cream”. This also enhances the flavor so you get a little more pizzazz in pallet with natural items like our Strawberry Honey.

Make Gelato Cake Pop

Do you need an occasion to treat yourself to a Gelato Cake Pop? Here at Muse, we don’t think so! You can create gelato cake pops out of any of Muse Gelato’s flavors. Host a get together and set up a “build your own” bar with different flavored cake crumbles and a variety of toppings. We hope your guests inspire you to get creative and you never know, you may find a new favorite.
 
What you will need:
Your favorite flavor of Muse Gelato
Homemade or store bought cake
A sheet tray that will fit inside your freezer
An ice cream scoop
 
Bake cake per directions and cool completely.
Scoop gelato for pops using ice cream scoop. After scooping the gelato into balls, you will need to re-freeze before you move to the next step. 
(Muse tip: put ice cream scoop and sheet tray in the freezer before beginning)
Work quickly and if the gelato balls are fully frozen, you will have little time to roll them into the cake crumbles and toppings.  Once gelato balls are coated, you will need to freeze again.  Insert cake pop stick just before serving.
Try our Hazelnut Gelato with chocolate cake crumbles and crispy rice cereal or Oatmeal Caramel Gelato with yellow cake and chopped candied pralines. The options are limitless with Muse’s seasonal and year-round flavors!

National Sandwich Day Inspiration

​Muse Gelato celebrated National Sandwich Day with a spin on the traditional sandwich. We were inspired by our Vanilla Citrus Gelato for our first sandwich and our Chocolate Ganache for the doughnut sandwich. Here we provide you with step by step directions on how you can enjoy these delectable desserts utilizing Muse Gelato.

For our Vanilla Citrus Gelato Sandwich:
  1. Cut a pre-made pound cake into sandwich into one inch slices
  2. Spread one slice with strawberry jam
  3. Spread another slice with Muse’s Vanilla Citrus Gelato
  4. Flip the jam side on top of the Vanilla Citrus Gelato side and enjoy!


To create our Doughnut Gelato Sandwich:
  1. Cut a chocolate covered doughnut in half
  2. Spread peanut butter on one half of the doughnut
  3. Spread Muse Chocolate Ganache onto the other half
  4. Flip the peanut butter side on top of the Chocolate Ganache and enjoy

​Out on the town with Muse

​In August of 2016 Muse Gelato teamed up with The Orlando Brewing, The Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association, and the Food and Beverage Council to raise money for The No Kid Hungry campaign.
 
The No Kid Hungry campaign is a national organization and effort to end childhood hunger in America. Muse Gelato is a huge supporter of this organization and we think you should check it out too! (Here is the link  www.NoKidHungry.org) They really do some great work with the help of the Central Florida community.
 
For this particular event Muse Gelato created a Bourbon Butterscotch Gelato. We know cocktails cause creativity and inspiration, and that is what we’re are here to do! But back to the bourbon butterscotch, so now imagine this bold yet sweet creamy flavor that pairs perfectly with just a spoon, got the opportunity to lusciously bath in a pint glass of Orlando Brewing Brown Ale.  Now for those of you that have not had Orlando Brewing’s Brown Ale, we are sincerely sorry, and highly encourage you to pop by this welcoming backyard meets brewery location in the heart of Central Florida. You will be glad you did. You can also ask one of the 1,000 individuals that had the chance to experience this wonder, and they will tell you that the gelato-beer float was a sensational combination and a home run hit.  Muse Gelato was so honored in participating in this event, and we hope that together we can end childhood hunger.

When a typical vanilla relationship just will not do, Muse Gelato advises you to try our tempting Vanilla Citrus. Here at Muse, we wanted our first generation of retail flavors to match the culinary creativity that high-end restaurants and chefs have some to expect. We wanted you to experience this flavor combination with the convenience of gingerly placing a pint or two of Muse Gelato in your favorite grocery cart.
Upon opening a pint of Muse Gelato Vanilla Citrus the gentle fresh citrus aroma is the first experience you will have. By using the finest Madagascar Vanilla, we gently combine fresh squeezed Florida Orange Juice in to the mix because of our passion of using the very best local ingredients. The hint of the citrus makes for a rich and earthy vanilla with a light orange undertone. It’s just a highlight. It the perfect complement to the Vanilla and natural sweetness in the milk. Some may describe the flavor is described as a sophisticated orange Creamsicle. We like to think of it as a little taste of heaven.
 
As our team thinks a spoon is a perfect pairing for the Vanilla Citrus’ unique and complex flavor profile. The gelato really works nicely with a plethora of items. However, we are going to keep it simple, adding a scoop to a warm Butter Loaf Bread or Rum Cake topped with Vanilla Citrus Gelato is a divine match.  To inspire your culinary skills a little further add a drizzle of warm orange compote sauce. A simple culinary 101 upgrade would be top the gelato off with fresh berries and a dollop of whip cream (Bonus points for an orange twist on top.)
We also know cocktails cause creativity and inspirations. Next time you pour a glass of your favorite dry, Pinot Gris white wine. Enjoying a scoop of Muse’s Vanilla Citrus Gelato. This type of grape is commonly used to make Orange Wine and naturally pairs well with the citrus flavor in our gelato. We recommend a dry wine because it isn’t sweet and will accentuate the citrus background flavor in the gelato.

Halloween is Just around the corner! Pick up a pint of Muse Gelato’s Chocolate Ganache to make this treat where the entire family can get involved.
​

ETERNALLY DOOMED DIRT CAKE
Serving Size: 1 serving
Prep Time: 15 min.
Construction Time: 10 min.
Freezing Time: est. 30 min.

Ingredients:
1 Piece of Chocolate
Spoonful of Favorite Chocolate Sauce**
1 cup Muse Gelato Chocolate Gelato
4 Chocolate and white frosting Sandwich Cookies
1 Small Clay Pot, Small Bucket or glass like container, thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
Aluminum foil or plastic wrap
2-3 Gummy Worms

Instructions:
Thoroughly clean and sanitize your clay pot or bucket container. Line the inside with the aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Since it's a good chance the container is not food safe, we don't want the food to touch it. Next, place the chocolate cake in the bottom of the container. Place a large spoonful of chocolate sauce over the cake. Fill the container with the Muse Gelato Chocolate Gelato; be sure to cover any air gaps. Finally, crumble the chocolate and white frosting sandwich cookies over the gelato. Freeze until serving. When ready to serve add some chocolate sauce and place the gummy worms in the dirt.

If you think Whole Foods is the only place to find your Muse, think again! Muse Gelato can be discovered in more than just supermarkets.
Pastry Chef David Ramirez of David Ramirez Chocolates makes Muse Gelato available by the scoop at his chocolate shop in the Plant Street Market in Winter Garden, FL. It’s truly an honor to work with a world pastry champion like David. Having the stamp of approval by David Ramirez solidifies the quality of Muse Gelato products.
​
But it’s not only just markets and shops where you can find Muse. High-end restaurants such as Eddie V's Prime Seafood and Steaks in Orlando and Tampa, are also Muse-friendly. At Eddie V’s, they serve a Hot Bananas Foster Butter Cake with our Butter Pecan, as well as a Hot Chocolate Godiva Cake with our Vanilla Bean. Over at the Oceanaire Seafood Room on I-Drive, their chefs create a homemade Baked Alaska utilizing seasonal flavors from Muse Gelato. And Muse-lovers should also keep their eyes open over at the Sugar Factory at the Orlando 360 Eye complex.
